About the Author

Engr. Javed Akhtar Paracha

Civil engineer · NESPAK · Author · 45+ years in practice

Engr. Javed Akhtar Paracha is a Pakistani civil engineer whose career spans more than four decades of practice on major public and private works. His professional life has been shaped by long tenure at the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), where he held senior engineering and project management responsibilities across landmark national projects.

He has worked across the full lifecycle of large civil works — design coordination, construction supervision, measurement and valuation, contract administration, variations, claims, and dispute resolution — primarily under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Project Management with FIDIC is the consolidation of that practice. It is written for the field engineer who needs an answer at site: which clause applies, what notice is required, what evidence to gather, what letter to send, and when.
